    SEE ALSO...

RGMc Antibody (C20) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects the RGMc protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-RGMc antibody (C20) is available as a non-conjugated format. The repulsive guidance molecule (RGM) family plays a crucial role in the development of the nervous system, particularly in the guidance of growth cones during neuronal development. RGMc, also known as Hemojuvelin, is integral to the signaling pathway that activates hepcidin, a key regulator of iron homeostasis in the body. By working in concert with hepcidin, RGMc helps to restrict iron absorption in the gut, which is vital for maintaining appropriate iron levels and preventing conditions such as iron overload. Defects in the gene encoding RGMc can lead to juvenile hemochromatosis, an autosomal recessive disorder characterized by excessive iron accumulation in the body, highlighting the importance of RGMc in both iron metabolism and overall health. The RGM proteins, including RGMc, are anchored to the cell membrane via a glycosylphosphatidylinositol (GPI) anchor, which is essential for their function and interaction with other proteins. RGMc monoclonal antibody (C20) is a valuable tool for researchers studying the roles of RGM proteins in neuronal development and iron regulation.
