  • Renin Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b κ, cited in 3 publications, provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 233-263 within an internal region of Renin of mouse origin
  • recommended for detection of precursor and mature heavy chain Renin of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA
  • See Renin (B-12): sc-133145 for Renin antibody conjugates, including AC, HRP, FITC, PE, Alexa Fluor® 488, 594, 647, 680 and 790.
  • m-IgG2b BP-HRP and m-IgGκ BP-HRP are the preferred secondary detection reagents for Renin Antibody (G-7) for WB applications. These reagents are now offered in bundles with Renin Antibody (G-7) (see ordering information below).

Renin Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b light chain antibody that detects Renin in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Renin antibody (G-7) plays a crucial role in studying the Renin-Angiotensin system (RAS), which is vital for maintaining blood pressure and fluid balance in the body. Renin, a highly specific endopeptidase, is primarily synthesized and secreted by modified smooth muscle cells in the juxtaglomerular apparatus of the kidney, where Renin catalyzes the conversion of angiotensinogen to Angiotensin I. This process is essential as Angiotensin II, produced from Angiotensin I by angiotensin-converting enzyme I, is a potent vasoconstrictor that significantly influences blood pressure regulation and electrolyte balance. Renin expression in other tissues, including the brain, suggests potential roles beyond traditional function, although these are still being explored. Understanding Renin dynamics and interactions within RAS is critical for developing therapeutic strategies for hypertension and related cardiovascular diseases.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-365484 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Cweed
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
