SEE ALSO...

Renin Antibody (B-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Renin protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Renin antibody (B-12) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Renin plays a crucial role as a highly specific endopeptidase that catalyzes the conversion of angiotensinogen into Angiotensin I, which is subsequently transformed into Angiotensin II by angiotensin-converting enzyme I (ACE). This process is vital for the regulation of blood pressure and electrolyte balance, making Renin a key player in the renin-angiotensin-aldosterone system (RAAS). The release of Renin is stimulated by sympathetic nervous system activation, renal artery hypotension, and reduced sodium delivery to the distal tubules of the kidney, highlighting its importance in maintaining cardiovascular homeostasis. Additionally, Renin is synthesized and secreted by specialized smooth muscle cells in the juxtaglomerular apparatus of the kidney, although Renin expression in other tissues, such as the brain, suggests potential roles in additional physiological processes that are still being explored.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent resultRenin antibody stains very brightly in Mouse cells, simple operation and short cycle. It is very clear in western bloting.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Vitamin D receptor deficitWe hypothesized that lack of VDR would enhance p53 expression in podocytes through down regulation of SIRT1; the former would enhance the transcription of angiotensinogen (Agt) and angiotensinogen II type 1 receptor (AT1R) leading to the activation of RAS. Renal tissues of VDR mutant (M) mice displayed increased expression of p53, Agt, renin, and AT1R. In vitro studies, VDR knockout podocytes not only displayed up regulation p53 but also displayed enhanced expression of Agt, renin and AT1R. VDR deficient podocytes also displayed an increase in mRNA expression for p53, Agt, renin, and AT1R.
