Reg IIIα Antibody (3x1R-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Reg III alpha protein of mouse and rat origin by western blotting (WB) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-Reg III alpha antibody (3x1R-7) is available as a non-conjugated isotype antibody. Reg III alpha protein, also known as pancreatitis-associated protein, plays a crucial role in immune response and is primarily expressed in the intestine, with notable localization to the apical region of pancreatic acinar cells. Reg III alpha protein is part of the regeneration (REG) family, which consists of secretory proteins involved in proliferation and differentiation of liver, pancreatic, gastric, and intestinal cells. The REG family is divided into four subclasses, and members have been implicated in various biological processes, including cell growth regulation and tumorigenesis. Increased expression of Reg III alpha has been associated with pancreatic inflammation and liver carcinogenesis, highlighting significance in disease progression. Reg III alpha is detected in pancreatic juice during episodes of pancreatic inflammation, making Reg III alpha a valuable biomarker for assessing pancreatic health.
