    SEE ALSO...

RCK Antibody (YZ-14) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects RCK in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RCK, also known as DDX6 or P54, is a crucial member of the DEAD-box RNA helicase family, characterized by common protein motifs and widespread presence in various tissues. RCK (YZ-14) antibody recognizes a protein that plays a vital role in RNA metabolism, functioning as an unwindase that exhibits ATP-dependent RNA unwinding activity and facilitates RNA decay in the 5′-3′ direction. Anti-RCK antibody (YZ-14) targets a protein integral to normal cellular processes such as splicing, RNA export, and translation initiation, ensuring proper regulation of gene expression. Notably, RCK′s unwindase activity is essential for downregulating mRNA expression, which helps maintain normal transcriptional levels within cells. However, mutations in the gene encoding RCK can lead to overexpression, transforming RCK into an oncogene that promotes the expression of genes associated with cell growth and proliferation. Understanding RCK function and regulation is critical, as this highlights the delicate balance of RNA metabolism and implications in cellular health and disease.

Can sc-101019: RCK (YZ-14) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: Trav11
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-101019: RCK (YZ-14) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
