RAPGEF6 Antibody (BA-17) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects RAPGEF6 in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RAPGEF6, also known as PDZGEF2 or RA-GEF-2, functions as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor (GEF) that plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by facilitating the activation of small GTPases Rap 1 and Rap 2. This activation is vital for numerous cellular processes, including cell adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation, making RAPGEF6 an important player in pathway regulation. RAPGEF6 is primarily localized in the cytoplasm but moves to the plasma membrane upon ligand binding, which is essential for signal transduction. RAPGEF6 contains several functional domains, including an N-terminal Ras-GEF domain, a cyclic nucleotide monophosphate-binding domain, a PDZ domain, a Ras-associating domain, and a Ras exchanger motif, which collectively contribute to regulatory capabilities. RAPGEF6 can interact with M-Ras through its RA domain, further highlighting significance in cellular signaling networks. Alternative splicing of RAPGEF6 results in two isoforms, PDZ-GEF2A and PDZ-GEF2B, which may have distinct regulatory roles, enhancing functional diversity in various biological contexts.
