SEE ALSO...

RAP55 Antibody (C-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects RAP55 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RAP55 Antibody (C-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RAP55, also known as LSM14A, is a 463 amino acid member of the LSM14 family characterized by its FFD-TFG box domain, which plays a crucial role in RNA metabolism and regulation. RAP55 is involved in the formation of processing bodies (P-bodies), where RAP55 accumulates due to the presence of the LSM14 domain and RGG repeats, essential for mRNA decay and storage. The FDF motif within RAP55 is critical for cytoplasmic retention, ensuring RAP55 remains in the appropriate cellular compartment to perform its functions. RAP55 undergoes phosphorylation in response to DNA damage, likely mediated by ATM or ATR kinases, highlighting RAP55′s role in cellular stress responses. The gene encoding RAP55 is conserved across a wide range of species, including chimpanzees, dogs, cows, and various model organisms, and is located on human chromosome 19q13.11. This conservation underscores RAP55′s fundamental importance in cellular processes, making anti-RAP55 antibody (C-5) a valuable tool for researchers studying RNA metabolism and cellular responses to stress.
