Rap1GAP Antibody (E-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects Rap1GAP in human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Rap1GAP plays a crucial role in cellular signaling by stimulating the GTP hydrolytic activity of the monomeric G protein Rap1, which is essential for regulating various cellular processes, including cell proliferation and differentiation. Rap1GAP is primarily located in the brain, kidney, and pancreas, where Rap1GAP acts as a signal integrator, coordinating Gz signaling and Rap1 signaling pathways. Notably, Rap1GAP interacts with Gα z, a member of the Gi family of trimeric G proteins, which inhibits the ability of regulators of G protein signaling to promote GTP hydrolysis of the α subunit, thereby modulating downstream signaling events. Additionally, a novel isoform known as Rap1GAPII has been identified, which specifically binds to Gα z and is translocated from the cytosol to the membrane upon stimulation of the Gi-coupled M2 muscarinic receptor, leading to a decrease in GTP-bound Rap1 and subsequent activation of the ERK/MAPK pathway. anti-Rap1GAP antibody (E-11) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying the intricate mechanisms of G protein signaling and its implications in various physiological and pathological processes.
