Rap1 Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Rap1 protein of Saccharomyces cerevisiae origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Rap1 antibody (G-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Rap1 protein, also known as TERF2IP (telomeric repeat-binding factor 2-interacting protein 1) or DRIP5, is a crucial 399 amino acid protein located in both the nucleus and cytoplasm, featuring one BRCT domain and one Myb-like domain. Rap1 plays a vital role in regulating telomere function and transcription, although Rap1 does not bind DNA directly. Instead, Rap1 is recruited to telomeric double-stranded 5′-TTAGGG-3′ repeats through interaction with TRF2, which is essential for negatively regulating telomere recombination and repressing homology-directed repair (HDR), processes that significantly influence telomere length. RAP1 gene is located on human chromosome 16q23.1 and mouse chromosome 8 E1, highlighting evolutionary conservation and importance in cellular function.
