Rap1 Antibody (A-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects RAP1 in various species through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-RAP1 antibody (A-8) recognizes RAP1, also known as TERF2IP or DRIP5, a 399 amino acid protein located in both the nucleus and cytoplasm, which plays a crucial role in maintaining telomere integrity and regulating transcription. RAP1 contains one BRCT domain and one Myb-like domain, which are essential for telomere protection and gene expression regulation. RAP1 is recruited to telomeric double-stranded 5′-TTAGGG-3′ repeats through interaction with TRF2, highlighting RAP1′s importance in telomere biology. RAP1 functions as a negative regulator of telomere recombination and represses homology-directed repair, processes critical for maintaining telomere length and genomic stability. RAP1′s gene is located on human chromosome 16q23.1 and mouse chromosome 8 E1, underscoring evolutionary conservation and significance across species.
