    SEE ALSO...

Ran BP-17 Antibody (B-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects Ran BP-17 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Ran BP-17 antibody (B-1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Ran BP-17, also known as ran-binding protein 17, is a crucial component in the nuclear transport system, playing a significant role in the import of proteins with a nuclear localization signal (NLS) through nuclear pore complexes (NPCs). This process is vital for cellular function, as nuclear transport regulates the movement of proteins and large RNAs, ensuring essential molecules reach the nucleus to perform their functions. Ran BP-17 consists of 1,088 amino acids and belongs to the importin-beta superfamily of nuclear transport receptors. Ran BP-17 shows predominant expression in the testis, with moderate levels in the pancreas and lower expression in the heart, placenta, lung, liver, thyroid, spinal cord, trachea, and adrenal gland. Ran BP-17 interacts with nucleoporins and the GTP-bound form of Ran to facilitate transport processes. Human Ran BP-16 and Ran BP-17 share 66% amino acid sequence identity, demonstrating evolutionary conservation across species including chimpanzees, dogs, cows, mice, and rats, with Ran BP-17 gene mapping to human chromosome 5q35.1. These characteristics make Ran BP-17 (B-1) monoclonal antibody an invaluable tool for studying nuclear transport mechanisms and Ran BP-17′s diverse roles in cellular and tissue-specific functions.
