Ran BP-1 Antibody (D-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects RanBP-1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). RanBP-1 (D-8) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. RanBP-1 plays a crucial role in regulating the small Ras-related protein Ran, which is essential for numerous cellular processes such as DNA replication, mitotic entry and exit, and transport of RNA and proteins through the nuclear pore complex. RanBP-1 functions as a guanine nucleotide exchange factor inhibitor, modulating RCC1 activity, which converts Ran GDP to Ran GTP. Through RCC1 inhibition, RanBP-1 indirectly increases Ran GDP levels, influencing the balance of active and inactive Ran within cells.
