SEE ALSO...

Rad51 Antibody (G-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody engineered to target the N-terminal region (amino acids 1-92) of the human Rad51 protein, ensuring precise detection across multiple applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) in mouse, rat, and human samples. Rad51, also called Reca and Rad51a, is a critical protein involved in the homologous recombination repair (HRR) pathway, which is essential for the accurate repair of DNA double-strand breaks, maintaining genomic stability, and preventing mutations that can lead to cancer. Functionally, Rad51 facilitates the search for homologous DNA sequences and promotes strand invasion and exchange, forming nucleoprotein filaments that are pivotal for the repair process. This activity is vital for cellular resistance to DNA-damaging agents and for the maintenance of genomic integrity during cell division. Rad51 interacts with key proteins such as BRCA1 and BRCA2, which are integral to the DNA damage response and repair mechanisms. These interactions are crucial for the proper localization and function of Rad51 within the nucleus. Additionally, Rad51 collaborates with other Rad52 family members, including Rad52, Rad54, and the Rad51 paralogs, to coordinate the repair process and ensure efficient resolution of DNA lesions. The ability of Rad51 to form stable filaments and regulation through various post-translational modifications, such as phosphorylation and ubiquitination, are essential for DNA repair and cellular survival. Rad51 (G-9) antibody does not cross-react with other members of the Rad51 family, providing high specificity and reliability for researchers studying DNA repair mechanisms, cancer biology, and genomic stability. Available in both non-conjugated form and various conjugated forms including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates, anti-Rad51 antibody (G-9) offers versatile solutions to meet diverse experimental needs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It works well in WB!We used it at 1:100 diluition in BSA and it works very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great signalWe Used for WB at 1:100 dilution, with human infected B lymphocytes and in Panc1 cells and had a great signal
Date published: 2020-02-10
Rated 1 out of 5 by from not recomended for WBno signal for WB (dilution range 1:50 - 1:1000 in BSA/TBS-T or MMP/TBS-T) and only a very weak signal in IF (dilution 1:50) if the cells were fixed in 2% formaldehyde. Even then the background signal is too high to obtain a good signal.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good antibody for WBUsed 1:500 5% milk TBST overnight at 4 degrees. Worked very nicely.
Date published: 2018-03-05
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not useful for IFTried to detect rad51 foci after DNA damage in cell line. It does not work, very few signal, nucleus barely stained (dilution 1/500)
