SEE ALSO...

Rad23B Antibody (H-8) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Rad23B protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Rad23B antibody (H-8) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Rad23B protein plays a critical role in nucleotide excision repair (NER), a vital cellular process that corrects DNA damage caused by ultraviolet light and other environmental factors. Rad23B protein is predominantly located in the nucleus, where Rad23B associates with the proteasome through its N-terminus, facilitating the degradation of damaged proteins and thus maintaining cellular homeostasis. The C-terminal ubiquitin-associated domain of Rad23B protein is highly conserved across species, underscoring its essential function in DNA repair mechanisms. Notably, Rad23B expression is significantly higher than that of its homolog Rad23A in typical mammalian cells, which highlights Rad23B importance in the cellular response to DNA damage. Furthermore, RAD23 genes, which encode Rad23 proteins, exhibit increased transcription in response to DNA damage, making Rad23B protein a crucial player in the cellular defense against genotoxic stress.

Are there any issues with using sc-137088: Rad23B (H-8) mouse monoclonal primary antibody on mouse samples?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent,we recommend using a directly conjugated primary antibody. Please contact our special orders department for pricing and availability of sc-137088 conjugates.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Potent and very specific antibodyThis monoclonal antibody was independently tested in-house by Kinexus Bioinformatics Corporation and validated for use for Western blotting. There was medium detection of the ~55 kDa target protein in a HeLa/Jurkat cell lysate mix, but not detected in mouse tissues (brain/testes/thymus/muscle mix). No major cross-reactivities were observed at 2 µg/ml antibody concentration with off-target proteins in the mouse tissues tested or in the HeLa/Jurkat cell lysate mix.
