    SEE ALSO...

Qa-2 Antibody (695H1-9-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a antibody that detects Qa-2 protein of mouse origin by flow cytometry (FCM). Anti-Qa-2 antibody (695H1-9-9) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), providing flexibility for different experimental needs. The Qa-2 protein, a non-classical major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I cell surface antigen, plays a crucial role in the immune system by influencing the rate of embryonic cleavage during preimplantation stages of development and participating in both adaptive and innate immune responses. Qa-2 (695H1-9-9) antibody is involved in resistance to T. crassiceps cysticercosis, highlighting its importance in host defense mechanisms. Qa-2′s unique ability to associate with a diverse array of peptide sequences is essential for function, as Qa-2 requires two dominant C-terminal anchor residues for effective peptide binding. This characteristic allows Qa-2 to present a variety of peptides to T cells, thereby modulating immune responses. The molecular weight and subunit structure of Qa-2 molecules are similar to H2 antigens, with Qa-2 heavy chain featuring two additional NH2-terminal amino acids and several critical amino acid interchanges, which may influence binding properties and interactions with other proteins.

Can Qa-2 (695H1-9-9): sc-52552 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

    Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, Qa-2 (695H1-9-9): sc-52552 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
