    SEE ALSO...

Purβ Antibody (211H2H) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the Pur beta protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB). Anti-Purβ antibody (211H2H) is available as the non-conjugated form. Purβ, or Purine-rich element-binding protein B, is a 312 amino acid protein that plays a crucial role in gene regulation and DNA replication. Purβ belongs to the PUR DNA-binding protein family and functions as a sequence-specific, single-stranded DNA-binding protein, preferentially binding to purine-rich elements found at origins of replication and in gene flanking regions across various eukaryotic species, from yeasts to humans. This binding is essential for proper control of transcription and DNA replication, highlighting Purβ′s importance in cellular processes. Notably, Purβ has been implicated in hematological malignancies, as its deletion is associated with myelodysplastic syndrome and acute myelogenous leukemia, conditions characterized by the arrest of hematopoietic precursors in early developmental stages. Additionally, Purβ is localized in the nucleus and is expressed in the myocardium of patients with heart failure, indicating Purβ′s potential role in cardiac health. Purβ is conserved across multiple species, including mouse, rat, zebrafish, fruit fly, mosquito, Caenorhabditis elegans, Arabidopsis thaliana, and rice, and maps to human chromosome 7p13, underscoring Purβ′s evolutionary significance.
