PTH/PTHrP-R Antibody (3D1.1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the PTH/PTHrP-R protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and flow cytometry (FCM). PTH/PTHrP-R monoclonal antibody (3D1.1) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The parathyroid hormone (PTH) receptor, also known as PTH/PTHrP-R, plays a crucial role in calcium homeostasis and bone metabolism by mediating the effects of PTH and parathyroid hormone-related peptide (PTHrP). PTH/PTHrP-R is primarily located on the surface of target cells in the bone and kidney, where PTH/PTHrP-R facilitates the actions of PTH and PTHrP, leading to increased calcium reabsorption in the kidneys and enhanced bone resorption. Proper functioning of PTH/PTHrP-R is vital for maintaining calcium levels in the bloodstream, and dysregulation of PTH/PTHrP-R can lead to conditions such as hyperparathyroidism or osteoporosis. The gene encoding PTH/PTHrP-R is located on human chromosome 3p21.31, and PTH/PTHrP-R expression is tightly regulated by calcium levels and other hormonal signals, underscoring PTH/PTHrP-R importance in endocrine signaling pathways.

I am a Phd student in NUI Galway. We are to purchase Anti-PTH/PTHrP-R Antibody (3D1.1) sc-12722. I was wondering if it already comes in dissolved form or in powdered form? If it does come in dissolved form, how much quantity is provided per vial? Thanks

Asked by: Vatsal
Thank you for your question. As indicated in the product datasheet, this antibody is supplied as 200 µg in 1 ml of PBS with 0.1 % gelatin and <0.1 % sodium azide.

I would like to use sc-12722 for some double staining. Any tips for using only mouse monoclonal antibodies?

Asked by: Cweed
We recommend using directly conjugated primary antibodies. This product, sc-12722, is available directly conjugated to FITC, AF488, and AF647.
