PTF1 Antibody (C-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects PTF1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PTF1 (C-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PTF1, also known as PTF1A (pancreas-specific transcription factor 1A) or PTF1-p48, is a crucial protein localized in the nucleus that plays a significant role in mammalian pancreatic development. PTF1 functions as a transcription factor within the trimeric pancreas transcription factor 1 (PTF1) complex, which is essential for the specification of all three pancreatic cell types. PTF1 contains a basic helix-loop-helix (bHLH) domain, allowing interaction with other proteins, such as RBP-Jκ, to regulate the expression of PDX-1 (pancreas/duodenum homeobox protein 1). PDX-1 is a key regulator of pancreatic islet development and insulin gene transcription in beta-cells, highlighting PTF1′s importance in maintaining proper pancreatic function. Disruption of PTF1 function can lead to abnormal differentiation of pancreatic progenitors, resulting in their adoption of duodenal epithelial fates. Furthermore, mutations in PTF1 are associated with diabetes mellitus and cerebellar hypoplasia/agenesis, indicating PTF1′s vital role in cerebellar neurogenesis.
