PSMC3 Antibody (28-K) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PSMC3 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PSMC3 antibody (28-K) is available as a non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. PSMC3, also known as Proteasome 26S subunit ATPase 3 or TBP1 (Tat-binding protein 1), plays a crucial role in selective degradation of cellular proteins, a process vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and regulating various biological functions. PSMC3 is a 439 amino acid member of the AAA ATPase family and is localized in both nucleus and cytoplasm, where PSMC3 serves as a subunit of the 19S regulatory complex of the 26S proteasome. The 26S proteasome is essential for degradation of ubiquitinated proteins, which are marked for destruction due to damage or misfolding. PSMC3 helps regulate substrate specificity of the proteasome, ensuring that only appropriate proteins are targeted for degradation. Additionally, PSMC3 interacts with HIV protein HIV-1 Tat, facilitating association of this viral protein with transcription complexes, thereby influencing viral replication and pathogenesis. This multifaceted role of PSMC3 underscores significance in both normal cellular processes and disease mechanisms, making PSMC3 (28-K) antibody a valuable tool for researchers studying proteasome function and related pathways.
