PSM Antibody (YPSMA-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSM) in human samples through western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and immunohistochemistry. Anti-PSM antibody (YPSMA-1) recognizes an integral membrane protein that plays a crucial role in prostate cancer progression, showing overexpression in malignant tumors while maintaining low levels in normal tissues. This specificity makes PSM a valuable biomarker for diagnosing prostate cancer, as well as for monitoring disease progression and response to therapy. PSM monoclonal antibody (YPSMA-1) targets proteins primarily located on prostate cancer cell surfaces, enabling targeted therapeutic strategies like antibody-drug conjugates that selectively deliver cytotoxic agents to cancerous cells while sparing healthy tissues. PSM (YPSMA-1) antibody helps detect proteins involved in cellular processes, including cell adhesion and signaling, which are critical for tumor growth and metastasis. Accurate detection and quantification of PSM using PSM (YPSMA-1) monoclonal antibody enhances research and clinical efforts aimed at improving outcomes for patients with prostate cancer.

Can sc-59674: PSM (YPSMA-1) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: cjMara
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-59674: PSM (YPSMA-1) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
