PSIP1 Antibody (3F7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PSIP1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PSIP1 antibody (3F7) is available as a non-conjugated format. PSIP1, also known as PC4 and SFRS1 interacting protein 1, CLL-associated antigen KW-7, PSIP2, lens epithelium-derived growth factor (LEDGF), PAIP, and DFS70 (dense fine speckles 70 kDa protein), is a crucial 530 amino acid nuclear protein that plays a significant role in the regulation of gene expression. PSIP1 functions primarily as a transcriptional coactivator, forming complexes with human immunodeficiency virus type 1 (HIV-1) integrase, which is essential for nuclear localization and chromosomal association of viral proteins. PSIP1 serves as the primary integrase-to-chromatin tethering factor for HIV-1, facilitating cellular trafficking of lentiviral integrases and thereby influencing viral replication. During apoptosis, PSIP1 undergoes cleavage at three sites by caspase-3 and caspase-7, which has implications in the pathogenesis of atopic disorders, highlighting PSIP1′s multifaceted role in both viral biology and cellular processes.

Can sc-101087: PSIP1 (3F7) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-101087: PSIP1 (3F7) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good antibody for IF and WBvery specific and reliable antibody for immunofluorescence analysis (dilution 1:500, cells were fixed with 2% formaldehyde). Works also well in WB (dilution 1:1000 in BSA/TBS-T), but shows unspecific signals at 100kDa.
