SEE ALSO...

PSF Antibody (G-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PSF in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PSF Antibody (G-7) is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PSF plays a crucial role in pre-mRNA splicing, a vital process for post-transcriptional regulation of gene expression, where intron sequences are removed from precursor mRNA. This splicing process is facilitated by the spliceosome, a large ribonucleoprotein complex, and PSF is essential for spliceosome formation, particularly in early stages. PSF contains two RNA recognition motifs, a proline- and glutamine-rich amino-terminal domain, and two carboxy-terminal nuclear localization signals, which are critical for function and localization. PSF is predominantly found in nucleus speckles distinct from nucleoli, and localization is influenced by the second RNA recognition motif. PSF interacts with DNA binding domains of thyroid hormone receptors and retinoic acid receptors, functioning as a repressor by recruiting histone deacetylases to these domains. PSF is expressed in developing neurons, suggesting involvement in neuronal differentiation and maturation, and undergoes proteolytic cleavage in myeloid cells, producing a shorter fragment that may have distinct functional implications.
