SEE ALSO...

PRX VI Antibody (D-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG3 kappa light chain antibody that detects PRX VI protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PRX VI (D-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PRX VI protein, also known as antioxidant protein 2 or AOP2, plays a crucial role in cellular antioxidant defense, particularly in epithelial cells, where PRX VI is highly expressed. PRX VI protein is unique among the peroxiredoxin family as a 1-Cys peroxiredoxin, which allows PRX VI to effectively neutralize reactive oxygen species (ROS) and protect cells from oxidative stress. Additionally, PRX VI is involved in lung phospholipid metabolism and provides protection to keratinocytes from cell death induced by ROS, highlighting PRX VI′s importance in maintaining cellular integrity and function. PRX VI localization in the cytosol is significant, as PRX VI allows for rapid response to oxidative stress within the cell, thereby contributing to cellular homeostasis and survival. Given these diverse roles, PRX VI is not only essential for antioxidant defense but also plays a part in various physiological processes, making PRX VI a valuable target for research in oxidative stress-related diseases and conditions.
