PRX Antibody (A-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects peroxiredoxin (PRX) in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PRX antibody (A-6) targets a crucial family of antioxidant proteins that play a significant role in cellular defense against reactive oxygen species (ROS), which can cause oxidative stress and damage to cellular components. PRX monoclonal antibody (A-6) recognizes peroxiredoxin proteins, including PRX I, II, III, IV, V, and VI, which utilize thioredoxin as an electron donor to mitigate oxidative damage, thereby maintaining cellular homeostasis and promoting cell survival. PRX III and V are localized in the mitochondria, where these proteins are essential for protecting mitochondrial integrity and function, while PRX I, II, IV, and VI are found in the cytoplasm, contributing to broader cellular antioxidant defense mechanisms. Expression of PRX proteins is particularly relevant in various pathological conditions; elevated levels of PRX I, II, and III have been associated with breast cancer progression, and upregulation in Alzheimer′s disease and Down syndrome suggests a potential role in the pathogenesis of these disorders. PRX (A-6) antibody′s versatility in detecting these proteins across different species and applications makes this reagent an invaluable tool for researchers studying oxidative stress, cancer biology, and neurodegenerative diseases.
