PRSS16 Antibody (D-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects PRSS16 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PRSS16 antibody (D-7) is available as the non-conjugated monoclonal isotype antibody. PRSS16, also known as serine protease 16 or thymus-specific serine protease (TSSP), consists of 514 amino acids and plays a crucial role in the alternative antigen presenting pathway, which is essential for T-cell positive selection. This process is vital for the development of a functional immune response, as T-cells can effectively recognize and respond to pathogens. PRSS16 is predominantly localized to lysosomal or endosomal cytoplasmic vesicles and is highly expressed in cortical thymic epithelial cells, where PRSS16 contributes to T-cell maturation. PRSS16 is encoded on human chromosome 6, within a large histone gene cluster near the major histocompatibility complex (MHC) class I region, highlighting PRSS16′s potential involvement in immune regulation. PRSS16 has been implicated in susceptibility to insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (IDDM) and autoimmune conditions, making PRSS16 a significant target for research in immunology and disease mechanisms.

What blocking solution should I use with PRSS16 (D-7): sc-515700 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: Professor Griffin
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
