Prostein Antibody (A-5) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects Prostein protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Prostein antibody (A-5) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Prostein, also known as prostate cancer-associated protein 6, is a 553 amino acid transmembrane protein that plays a crucial role in prostate biology, being upregulated by androgens and serving as a marker for prostate cells. Expression is not only limited to malignant conditions but is also found in benign prostatic hyperplasia, making Prostein a significant protein for understanding prostate health and disease. Location within the cell membrane is particularly important, as Prostein facilitates interactions with other cellular components and signaling pathways, which can influence tumor progression and immune responses. Given that Prostein can elicit a tumor-directed cytotoxic T cell response, this protein holds promise as a target for innovative therapeutic strategies aimed at prostate cancer, potentially enhancing the efficacy of PSA- and T cell-based treatments.
