PRMT2 Antibody (B-11) is a mouse monoclonal IgM kappa light chain antibody that detects PRMT2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PRMT2 Antibody (B-11) is available as the non-conjugated anti-PRMT2 antibody (B-11). PRMT2 consists of 433 amino acids and is encoded by the human gene PRMT2, playing a crucial role in cellular processes as a member of the protein arginine N-methyltransferase family. This family is known for post-translationally modifying arginine residues, essential for regulating various cellular functions, including transcription and chromatin dynamics. PRMT2 contains a highly conserved S-adenosylmethionine-binding domain that inhibits NF-kappaB-dependent transcription, a pathway critical for inflammatory responses and cell survival. By blocking nuclear export of IkappaB-alpha through a leptomycin-sensitive mechanism, PRMT2 increases nuclear IkappaB-alpha levels, reducing NF-kappaB′s ability to bind DNA and promote transcription. This regulatory function influences gene expression and enhances cell susceptibility to apoptosis in response to cytokines or cytotoxic drugs, highlighting PRMT2′s importance in both normal cellular function and disease contexts.
