SEE ALSO...

PRC1 Antibody (C-1) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PRC1 in mouse, rat, and human samples through applications such as western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PRC1 Antibody (C-1) is available in non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Protein regulating cytokinesis 1 (PRC1) plays a crucial role in cell cycle by binding to mitotic spindle midzones during anaphase and localizing to cell midbody during cytokinesis, essential for successful cell division. PRC1 serves as a substrate for several cyclin-dependent kinases (Cdks), including Cdc2 and Cdk2, which regulate PRC1 activity through phosphorylation. Studies show PRC1 depletion prevents cellular cleavage without affecting nuclear division, highlighting PRC1′s specific role in mitosis. The yeast homolog of PRC1, Ase1, proves vital for spindle assembly, elongation, and disassembly during mitosis, undergoing degradation through anaphase-promoting complex upon G1 phase entry, emphasizing PRC1′s significance in cell cycle regulation and potential implications in cancer research and therapeutic development.
