PP2Cκ Antibody (E-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects PP2C kappa protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PP2C kappa antibody (E-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PP2C kappa protein, also known as protein phosphatase 2C isoform kappa, is a 372 amino acid mitochondrial matrix protein that plays a critical role in regulating mitochondrial membrane permeability transition pores, which is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and preventing apoptosis. Such regulation is particularly important in tissues with high energy demands, such as brain, diaphragm, and heart, where PP2C kappa is most abundantly expressed. PP2C kappa′s ability to modulate mitochondrial function underscores significance in cell survival, cardiac function, and embryonic development; loss of PP2C kappa expression can lead to cell death due to compromised mitochondrial membrane potential. Additionally, PP2C kappa interacts specifically with branched-chain-alpha-ketoacid dehydrogenase complex, facilitating dephosphorylation of Ser293, which ultimately inhibits branched-chain amino acid metabolism. Notably, three isoforms of PP2C kappa are produced through alternative splicing, adding complexity to regulatory functions within cells.
