PMP22 Antibody (G-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects PMP22 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PMP22 (G-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PMP22, or peripheral myelin protein 22, plays a crucial role in the formation and maintenance of myelin in the peripheral nervous system, which is essential for proper nerve impulse conduction. Mutations in PMP22 are associated with several demyelinating diseases, including Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease type 1A, highlighting PMP22′s importance in neurological health. PMP22 is primarily localized in the compact myelin of Schwann cells, where PMP22 contributes to the structural integrity and functionality of the myelin sheath. PMP22 gene is located on human chromosome 17p11.2, and PMP22 expression is tightly regulated during development and in response to injury, making PMP22 a significant marker for studying peripheral nerve disorders.
