PlGF Antibody (37203.111) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects human PlGF by western blotting (WB) and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PlGF antibody (37203.111) is available as a non-conjugated isotype antibody. Placental Growth Factor (PlGF) plays a crucial role in angiogenesis, which is the formation of new blood vessels, a process vital for normal development and wound healing. Aberrant angiogenesis is implicated in various pathological conditions, including cancer, where PlGF can facilitate tumor growth and metastasis. PlGF interacts with vascular endothelial growth factor receptor 1 (Flt-1) and can activate Flk-1/KDR, both key players in angiogenic signaling pathways. PlGF exists in several isoforms due to alternative splicing of mRNA, and physiological effects are closely linked to VEGF, with evidence suggesting many actions attributed to VEGF may involve PlGF signaling. PlGF promotes endothelial cell proliferation and migration, underscoring importance in both physiological and pathological angiogenesis, making PlGF a significant target for therapeutic interventions in diseases characterized by abnormal blood vessel formation.
