    SEE ALSO...

PLEKHG5 Antibody (5A9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects PLEKHG5 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PLEKHG5 antibody (5A9) is available as the non-conjugated form. PLEKHG5, also known as guanine nucleotide exchange factor 720 (GEF720) or DSMA4, plays a crucial role in cellular signaling, particularly in the activation of the NFκB pathway, which is essential for regulating immune responses and cell survival. PLEKHG5 is predominantly expressed in the peripheral nervous system and brain, where PLEKHG5 is localized in the cytoplasm; however, upon cellular stimulation, PLEKHG5 translocates to perinuclear regions, highlighting its dynamic role in cellular signaling. The presence of the highly-conserved DH-PH module in PLEKHG5 is significant as this module serves as a hallmark of the Dbl family of guanine nucleotide exchange factors, facilitating the exchange of GDP for GTP on Rho family GTPases, which are critical for various cellular processes including cytoskeletal dynamics and cell differentiation. Mutations in the PLEKHG5 gene have been implicated in autosomal recessive distal spinal muscular atrophy (DSMA), underscoring PLEKHG5′s relevance in neurodegenerative diseases. Four isoforms of PLEKHG5 exist due to alternative splicing, which may contribute to PLEKHG5′s functional diversity and regulatory mechanisms in different cellular contexts.

Can sc-517108: PLEKHG5 (5A9) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: jerojero
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-517108: PLEKHG5 (5A9) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
