Platelet IIb/IIIa complex Antibody (85/661) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects the Platelet IIb/IIIa complex protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and immunofluorescence (IF). Anti-Platelet IIb/IIIa complex antibody (85/661) is available as a non-conjugated format. Platelet IIb/IIIa complex (85/661) antibody specifically recognizes an epitope of the Fibrinogen receptor, which is unique to platelets and does not cross-react with monocytes, leukocytes, lymphocytes, erythrocytes, leukemic cell lines, or fibroblast cell lines. The Fibrinogen receptor, also known as glycoprotein complex IIb/IIIa, is a critical component of the integrin family, composed of two subunit glycoproteins: Integrin α2b and Integrin β3, which form a heterodimeric complex in a 1:1 stoichiometric ratio. This receptor is essential for platelet aggregation and plays a vital role in hemostasis by facilitating the binding of platelets to fibrinogen and von Willebrand factor, thereby promoting clot formation. The structural integrity of the Fibrinogen receptor is crucial, as mutations or dysfunctions can lead to conditions such as thrombasthenia, characterized by impaired platelet aggregation and increased bleeding risk. Understanding the structure and function of the Platelet IIb/IIIa complex is important for developing therapeutic strategies targeting platelet function in various cardiovascular diseases.
