PJA1 Antibody (3E10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects PJA1 protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PJA1 antibody (3E10) is available as the non-conjugated format. PJA1, also known as Praja1 or RING finger protein 70, plays a crucial role in the ubiquitin-proteasome system, which is essential for regulating protein degradation and maintaining cellular homeostasis. This 643 amino acid protein functions as an E2-dependent E3-ubiquitin ligase, facilitating the ubiquitination of specific substrates through its RING finger domain. PJA1 is predominantly expressed in various regions of the brain, including the cerebellum, medulla, cerebral cortex, putamen, occipital pole, temporal lobe, and frontal lobe, highlighting potential involvement in neurological functions. The gene encoding PJA1 is located on the X chromosome and has been implicated in X-linked mental retardations, such as craniofrontonasal syndrome, due to mutations found in affected individuals. PJA1 has been associated with gastrointestinal cancers, where overexpression may lead to the degradation of spectrin β II, a protein known for its anti-oncogenic properties. Two named isoforms of PJA1 result from alternative splicing events, which may contribute to diverse functional roles in cellular processes.
