PIST Antibody (A-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b kappa light chain antibody that detects PIST protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PIST (A-7) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PIST protein, also known as PDZ protein interacting specifically with TC10, GOPC, CAL, or FIG, is a 462 amino acid protein primarily localized in the cytoplasm and Golgi apparatus membrane, as well as at cell junctions. Such localization facilitates PIST′s role in intracellular protein trafficking and degradation, ensuring proteins are correctly sorted and delivered to their destinations within the cell. PIST contains one PDZ (DHR) domain and functions as a homooligomer, interacting with various proteins to modulate cellular processes. PIST is implicated in ionic current regulation through membrane channel modification and may play a significant role in autophagy. Chromosomal aberrations in PIST-encoding genes have been associated with glioblastoma multiforme, an aggressive brain tumor, suggesting a potential link between mutated PIST and carcinogenesis. Three PIST isoforms exist due to alternative splicing events, contributing to diverse functional roles in cellular physiology.

What blocking solution should I use with PIST (A-7): sc-393026 monoclonal antibody for Western blot?

Asked by: Randy McDonald
Thank you for your question. We recommend blocking with Blotto (either TBS Blotto A: sc-2333 or TBS Blotto B: sc-2335). Our Western blot protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/western-immuno-blotting
