PIS1 Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2a kappa light chain antibody that detects PIS1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PIS1 (C-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PIS1, also known as CDIPT (CDP-diacylglycerol--inositol 3-phosphatidyltransferase) or phosphatidylinositol synthase, is a 213 amino acid multi-pass membrane protein that plays a crucial role in the biosynthesis of phosphatidylinositol (PtdIns), a key phospholipid involved in cellular signaling and membrane dynamics. PIS1 is primarily localized to the Golgi apparatus and the cytoplasmic side of the endoplasmic reticulum, with highest expression levels found in adult liver and skeletal muscle, highlighting importance in metabolic processes. PIS1 exists as two alternatively spliced isoforms and is highly conserved across yeast and mammals, indicating essential function in cellular physiology. PIS1 is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 16p11.2, and PIS1 activity is CMP-dependent, facilitating the PtdIns-inositol exchange reaction while also potentially regulating excessive cellular PtdIns levels.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-514255 P appropriate for?

Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
