    SEE ALSO...

PIPOX Antibody (E-7) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PIPOX protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-PIPOX antibody (E-7) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PIPOX, also known as pipecolic acid oxidase, is a 390 amino acid enzyme that plays a crucial role in the metabolism of amino acids, specifically catalyzing the degradation of sarcosine, L-pipecolic acid, and L-proline using flavin adenine dinucleotide as a cofactor. This enzymatic activity is vital for maintaining cellular homeostasis and energy balance, as PIPOX helps regulate the levels of these metabolites, which can influence various metabolic pathways. PIPOX is localized in the peroxisome, an organelle responsible for lipid metabolism and the detoxification of reactive oxygen species, highlighting PIPOX′s importance in cellular health and function. The gene encoding PIPOX is located on human chromosome 17, a region that is significant due to its association with key tumor suppressor genes such as p53 and BRCA1, both of which are critical for maintaining genomic stability and preventing cancer. PIPOX′s proper functioning may therefore have implications for understanding metabolic disorders and cancer biology.
