    SEE ALSO...

PIPK I Antibody (D-12) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PIPK I protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PIPK I (D-12) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. The phosphatidylinositol-4-phosphate-5-kinase (PIPK) family plays a crucial role in synthesizing phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bisphosphate, a lipid vital for regulating numerous cellular processes such as cell proliferation, survival, membrane trafficking, and cytoskeletal organization. Within this family, PIPK I consists of three isoforms—PIPK I α, β, and γ—each phosphorylating distinct substrates and characterized by an activation loop that dictates enzymatic specificity and subcellular localization. PIPK I α, known as PIPK I β in mice, is predominantly expressed in brain tissue, while PIPK I β, referred to as PIPK I α in mice, is also identified as STM7. PIPK I γ has two variants generated through alternative splicing, expressed in the lung, brain, and kidneys, highlighting diverse functional roles in various tissues.

Can PIPK I (D-12): sc-365238 monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

    Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. Yes, PIPK I (D-12): sc-365238 has been validated for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
