PINK1 Antibody (C-3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PINK1 of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PINK1 Antibody (C-3) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PINK1, or PTEN induced putative kinase 1, is a crucial member of the serine/threonine protein kinase family and functions primarily as a tumor suppressor. PINK1 is predominantly located in the mitochondria, where PINK1 plays a vital role in maintaining mitochondrial integrity and function. PINK1′s presence in mitochondria is essential because PINK1 helps protect cells from mitochondrial dysfunction, particularly during periods of cellular stress, by phosphorylating mitochondrial proteins. Notably, mutations in the PINK1 gene (PARK6) can lead to altered autophosphorylation activity, which is linked to early onset Parkinson′s disease, a neurodegenerative disorder characterized by symptoms such as resting tremor, muscular rigidity, bradykinesia, and postural instability.
