Datasheets
  • PIBF Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgM κ PIBF antibody provided at 200 µg/ml
  • specific for an epitope mapping between amino acids 16-45 at the N-terminus of PIBF of human origin
  • recommended for detection of PIBF of mouse, rat and human origin by WB, IP, IF and ELISA; also reactive with additional species, including and equine, canine and porcine
  • m-IgGκ BP-HRP is the preferred secondary detection reagent for PIBF Antibody (A-2) for WB applications. This reagent is now offered in a bundle with PIBF Antibody (A-2) (see ordering information below). For additional m-IgGκ BP conjugates see our complete list of Mouse IgG Binding Proteins.

    SEE ALSO...

PIBF Antibody (A-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgM antibody that detects PIBF protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PIBF (A-2) antibody is available as the non-conjugated form. Progesterone-Induced Blocking Factor 1 (PIBF) plays a crucial role during pregnancy by modulating immune responses. PIBF is synthesized in response to progesterone by progesterone receptor-positive T lymphocytes, predominantly gamma-delta T cells. PIBF is essential for maintaining a healthy pregnancy, as PIBF inhibits the cytotoxic activity of natural killer (NK) cells, preventing them from lysing fetal cells. Notably, PIBF expression is significantly elevated in healthy pregnant women compared to those at risk for premature pregnancy termination, highlighting PIBF importance in pregnancy maintenance. Structurally, PIBF gene encodes a hydrophilic protein consisting of 757 amino acids, featuring an N-terminal signal sequence, a leucine zipper motif, a basic zipper sequence, a PEST sequence, a nuclear localization signal, and an endoplasmic reticulum membrane retention signal, along with numerous presumed N-glycosylation and phosphorylation sites. These structural elements are vital for PIBF function, as these elements facilitate proper localization and interaction with other cellular components, thereby influencing PIBF role as a transcription factor in its full-length form and potentially as a cytokine in its shorter forms.

What application is the blocking peptide sc-376840 P appropriate for?

    Asked by: AbPolly
Thank you for your question. The blocking peptide is intended for use as a negative control, by pre-adsorbing the mouse monoclonal antibody against the antigen. For full protocol details, please contact our Technical Services Department or view our online protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/peptide-neutralization
