PHYHD1 Antibody (B-6) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PHYHD1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PHYHD1 (B-6) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PHYHD1, which stands for phytanoyl-CoA dioxygenase domain containing 1, is a 291 amino acid protein that belongs to the PHYH family and the PHYHD1 subfamily. PHYHD1 is encoded by a gene located on human chromosome 9q34.11 and exists in three alternatively spliced isoforms. PHYHD1 functions as an alpha-ketoglutarate-dependent dioxygenase, which is crucial for metal ion binding and oxidoreductase activity, allowing PHYHD1 to act on single donors with the incorporation of two atoms of oxygen. PHYHD1 is particularly important as PHYHD1 is involved in the degradation of phytanic acid in peroxisomes, a process that is essential for lipid metabolism and cellular homeostasis. Additionally, PHYHD1 may play a significant role in DNA methylation during early postnatal liver development and mammalian differentiation, highlighting PHYHD1′s potential impact on gene regulation and developmental processes.
