SEE ALSO...

PHF1 Antibody (864C6a) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects PHF1 in human samples through western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP) applications. PHF1, also known as polycomb-like protein 1 or hPCI1, is a 567 amino acid member of the PHD finger protein family, which plays a crucial role in transcriptional regulation by modulating chromatin structure. PHF1 is predominantly localized in the nucleus and is widely expressed across various tissues, exhibiting particularly high levels in the pancreas, heart, and skeletal muscle, while showing lower expression in the liver, lung, kidney, brain, and placenta. The presence of two PHD-type zinc finger domains within PHF1 is significant as these domains are believed to enhance transcriptional activity, thereby influencing gene expression. PHF1 is known to interact with ENX-1, a key component of the polycomb repressive complex 2 (PRC2), which amplifies the gene silencing capabilities of PRC2, making PHF1 a vital player in the regulation of developmental processes and cellular differentiation. Additionally, PHF1 exists in two isoforms due to alternative splicing, which may further diversify functional roles in gene regulation.

I am using PHF1 (864C6a): sc-130646 antibody for immunoprecipitation, how much antibody should I use?

Asked by: Germaine
Thank you for your question. We recommend using 1–10 µl (i.e., 0.2–2 µg) of antibody with 1 ml of cell lysate. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration.
