SEE ALSO...

PHC1 Antibody (D-10) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PHC1 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PHC1 (D-10) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PHC1, also known as polyhomeotic homolog 1, EDR1, HPH1, or RAE28, plays a crucial role in gene expression regulation through involvement in the Polycomb group (PcG) multiprotein complex, specifically the PRC1 complex. This complex maintains transcriptional repression of target genes during development, vital for proper cellular differentiation and function. PHC1 is a 1,004 amino acid nuclear protein that exists as a homodimer and contains a FCS-type zinc finger and a sterile alpha motif (SAM) domain, both important for structural integrity and functional interactions. PHC1 is encoded on human chromosome 12, a region harboring over 1,100 genes and constituting approximately 4.5% of the human genome. PHC1 interacts with several proteins within the PRC1 complex, including Mel-18, Bmi-1, M33, MPc2, MPc3, RING1, and Ring1b, highlighting its integral role in chromatin remodeling and histone modification processes.
