    SEE ALSO...

PGs2 Antibody (D-9) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PGs2 protein of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PGs2 (D-9) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. PGs2, also known as C18orf10, is a 300 amino acid cytoplasmic protein that plays a crucial role in the neuronal tubulin polyglutamylase complex, which is essential for the post-translational modification of tubulin. This modification, particularly polyglutamylation, is vital for several microtubule functions, including axonemal beating, stability of centrioles, and neuronal differentiation, as PGs2 mediates interactions between tubulin and microtubule-associated proteins. The neuronal tubulin polyglutamylase complex, which includes PGs2 along with PGs1, PGs3, PGs4, and PGs5, is characterized by the presence of a TTL (tubulin tyrosine ligase-like) domain that catalyzes the ligation of glutamate to tubulin, thereby enhancing functional capacity. The TTL domain features ATP-grasp-like motifs that correspond to the ATP/Mg(2+) binding site, typical of enzymes with ATP-dependent carboxylate-amine/thiol ligase activity. Anti-PGs2 antibody (D-9) is an invaluable tool for researchers studying the dynamics of microtubule function and the intricate processes of neuronal development and stability.
