SEE ALSO...

PGM 3 Antibody (EC-13) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects phosphoglucomutase 3 (PGM 3) in human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry with paraffin-embedded sections (IHCP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PGM 3 plays a crucial role in carbohydrate metabolism, specifically in the interconversion of glucose-1-phosphate and glucose-6-phosphate, which is vital for both glycogenolysis and glycogenesis. This enzymatic activity is essential for maintaining glucose homeostasis and energy production in cells, particularly in tissues with high metabolic demands such as the heart, liver, and pancreas. PGM 3 is a 542 amino acid protein expressed ubiquitously, with the notable exception of lung tissue, and functions as a monomer that binds one magnesium ion per subunit, which is critical for enzymatic activity. The presence of multiple isozymes, including PGM 1, PGM 2, PGM 3, PGM 4, and Aciculin, highlights the evolutionary adaptation of this enzyme family to fulfill similar metabolic roles across different tissues, making PGM 3 (EC-13) monoclonal antibody an invaluable tool for studying glucose metabolism and its implications in various physiological and pathological conditions.

Can sc-100410: PGM 3 (EC-13) monoclonal antibody be used to stain formalin-fixed, paraffin-embedded (FFPE) tissue sections?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your question. Yes, sc-100410: PGM 3 (EC-13) is recommended for use in IHC with paraffin-embedded sections. We recommend performing antigen retrieval with sodium citrate buffer (pH 6) and heat. The full protocol can be found here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoperoxidase-staining
