SEE ALSO...

PGI2 synthase Antibody (3B11) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects the PGI2 synthase protein of human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). Anti-PGI2 synthase antibody (3B11) is available as the non-conjugated format. PGI2 synthase enzyme plays a crucial role in cardiovascular health by catalyzing the conversion of prostaglandin H2 to prostacyclin, a potent vasodilator and inhibitor of platelet aggregation. This function is vital as prostacyclin helps regulate blood flow and prevent thrombosis, thereby maintaining vascular homeostasis. PGI2 synthase is unique within the cytochrome P450 superfamily, as PGI2 synthase does not exhibit monooxygenase activity and does not require an external electron source for enzymatic reaction. PGI2 synthase consists of 500 amino acids and shares sequence homology with cholesterol 7-alpha-monooxygenase, indicating evolutionary significance. The gene encoding PGI2 synthase is located on human chromosome 20q13.13, highlighting importance in human genetics and potential implications in various cardiovascular diseases.
