Pericentrin 1 Antibody (D-4) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects Pericentrin 1 of mouse, rat, and human origin by western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). anti-Pericentrin 1 antibody (D-4) is available in both non-conjugated and various conjugated forms, including agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and multiple Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Pericentrin 1, also known as Nuclear pore complex protein Nup85, consists of 656 amino acids and is a crucial component of the nuclear pore complex (NPC), which plays a vital role in the transport of macromolecules between the cytoplasm and nucleus. Proper functioning of NPC is essential for cellular homeostasis, as NPC regulates bidirectional transport of proteins and RNA, thereby influencing gene expression and cellular signaling. Pericentrin 1 forms part of the Nup107-160 subcomplex, which is integral to assembly and maintenance of NPC, and organizes RNA export while tethering key nucleoporins like NUP98 and NUP153 to the nuclear envelope. Nup107-160 complex contributes to spindle assembly during mitosis and clustering of membranes in response to CCL2-activated CCR2. Pericentrin 1 regulates microtubule nucleation by interacting with gamma-tubulin and anchors protein kinase A holoenzyme at its association site, highlighting a multifaceted role in cellular processes. Human Pericentrin 1 gene is located on chromosome 17q25.2, underscoring significance in both normal cellular function and potential implications in disease states.
