Perforin 1 Antibody (1.VB.3) is a mouse monoclonal IgG2b antibody that detects perforin 1 in human samples through applications such as immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), and flow cytometry (FCM). Perforin 1 plays a crucial role in the immune response by facilitating the destruction of virus-infected and tumorigenic cells through cytotoxic T lymphocyte (CTL)-mediated cytotoxicity. Perforin 1 is primarily located in cytotoxic T lymphocytes and natural killer cells, where perforin 1 is secreted in response to immune activation. Perforin 1 in these immune cells is vital, as perforin 1 forms pores in the membranes of target cells, allowing the entry of cytotoxic serine proteases like granzymes, which induce apoptosis. Additionally, perforin 1 has been identified in a specific population of astrocytes in the human brain, suggesting a potential role in neuroimmune interactions. The regulation of perforin 1 activity is influenced by various cytokines, including interleukins 2, 3, 4, and 6, as well as tumor necrosis factor and interferon-gamma, highlighting perforin 1′s importance in both immune defense and the modulation of inflammatory responses. Anti-perforin 1 antibody (1.VB.3) is an essential tool for researchers studying immune responses, autoimmune diseases, and the mechanisms of cell-mediated cytotoxicity.
