SEE ALSO...

PDI Antibody (C-2) is a mouse monoclonal IgG1 kappa light chain antibody that detects PDI in mouse, rat, and human samples through various applications including western blotting (WB), immunoprecipitation (IP), immunofluorescence (IF), immunohistochemistry, and enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). PDI (C-2) antibody is available in both non-conjugated and multiple conjugated forms, such as agarose, horseradish peroxidase (HRP), phycoerythrin (PE), fluorescein isothiocyanate (FITC), and various Alexa Fluor® conjugates. Protein disulfide isomerase (PDI) plays a crucial role in the endoplasmic reticulum, where PDI catalyzes thiol-disulfide exchange and assists in proper folding of newly synthesized proteins, acting as a molecular chaperone. PDI (C-2) monoclonal antibody recognizes a protein essential for maintaining protein homeostasis and ensuring correct three-dimensional structures necessary for biological activity. PDI functions in regulating integrin-mediated cell adhesion through sulfhydryl-mediated conformational changes, highlighting PDI′s importance in cellular signaling and interaction. PDI also serves as a subunit in complex enzyme systems, such as prolyl-4-hydroxylase and triacylglycerol transfer proteins, demonstrating PDI′s multifaceted role in cellular processes.

Can PDI (C-2): sc-74551 monoclonal antibody be used in IF or IHC with mouse tissue or cells? Will there be non-specific staining?

Asked by: jenniferc
Thank you for your inquiry. The use of mouse monoclonal antibodies with mouse samples is very common and typically poses no problem. To eliminate any potential cross-reactivity of an anti-mouse secondary detection reagent, PDI (C-2): sc-74551 is available in a variety of direct conjugations, such as HRP, PE, FITC and AlexaFluors.
