    SEE ALSO...

PDGF-C Antibody (KJ-13) is a rat monoclonal IgG1 antibody that detects PDGF-C protein of mouse origin by western blotting (WB) and immunoprecipitation (IP). Anti-PDGF-C antibody (KJ-13) is available as a non-conjugated format. The platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) family, which includes PDGF-C, plays a crucial role in cellular processes such as growth, survival, and tissue repair, particularly in connective tissue cells. PDGF-C, also known as spinal cord-derived growth factor or fallotein, is a functional analog of PDGF-A and requires proteolytic activation to become biologically active. This activation allows PDGF-C to selectively bind to and activate PDGF receptor alpha (PDGFR-α), which is critical for mediating cellular responses such as proliferation and migration in vascular smooth muscle cells and pericytes. PDGF-C expression in the arterial wall and cultured vascular cells indicates a significant role in vascular biology and potential involvement in pathological conditions like arteriosclerosis. PDGF-C is subject to transcriptional deregulation by EWS/ETS fusion proteins, particularly EWS/FLI, highlighting relevance in certain cancers and importance in both normal physiology and disease contexts.

I am using PDGF-C (KJ-13): sc-80290 antibody for immunoprecipitation, how much antibody should I use?

    Asked by: Dr Ninau Qelp
Thank you for your question. We recommend using 1–10 µl (i.e., 0.2–2 µg) of antibody with 1 ml of cell lysate. However, optimal antibody concentration should be determined by titration. Please find our full immunoprecipitation protocol here: https://www.scbt.com/scbt/resources/protocols/immunoprecipitation-western-blots
